About WATO

Our Story: From Adversity to Agency.

WATO (We Are The Ones) was born from my own story—a journey through workplace trauma, systemic inequity, and the fight to reclaim my power.

This isn’t just a project or a program for me; it’s personal. It’s about taking the pain and challenges I’ve faced and turning them into something that heals and uplifts not just myself but other Black and Brown women who are navigating their own battles.

For my daughter Jaiya Devi and me, WATO is proof that even in the hardest moments, we can create something meaningful. We can transform poison into medicine, not only to restore ourselves but to build a pathway for others to find agency, independence, and hope.

WATO isn’t just about addressing inequities—it’s about disrupting and dismantling them.

We’re here to provide the tools, resources, and community that women like us need to thrive. Every woman we support becomes part of something bigger: a legacy of restoration, empowerment, and equity.

This work is deeply personal, but it’s also universal.

WATO is a space where we can all reclaim our power, rewrite our stories, and move forward together toward a future that truly works for us.
