About WATO

Our Story: From Adversity to Agency.

WATO — We Are The Ones — was born from my own story.

A journey through workplace trauma, systemic inequity, and the fight to reclaim my power.

This isn’t just a project or a program for me.

It’s personal.

It’s about taking the pain and the challenges I’ve faced and turning them into something that heals and uplifts not just myself, but every Black woman navigating her own version of this battle.

For my daughter Jaiya Devi and me, WATO is proof that even in the hardest moments, we can create something meaningful.

We can transform poison into medicine — not only to restore ourselves, but to build a pathway for others to find agency, independence, and hope.

WATO isn’t just about addressing inequities.

It’s about disrupting and dismantling them.

And now, WATO.LIFE is the next chapter.

A professional marketplace and community platform where Black women can find real opportunities, connect with a community that sees them fully, and take their next step on their own terms.

Not corporate. Not performative.

Built by us. For us.

This work is deeply personal. But it is also urgent. And it is moving.

We are not waiting for a seat at someone else’s table.

We built our own.
